Located in the center of Tacoma’s rejuvenated downtown, the 2010, 2011 and 2012 Condé Nast Traveler Gold List award-winning 320-room Hotel Murano is a world-class hotel in the heart of the Pacific Northwest. In addition to Gold List recognition, the property recently earned the #17 spot on Conde Nast Traveler’s 2011 Reader’s Choice list of the Top 200 Hotels in the United States. Beginning at the front entrance where Orizon, Costas Varotsos’ 104-foot tall, large-scale glass masterpiece, greets guests, art is deeply integrated into the function and design of the hotel. To complement the city’s reputation as the epicenter of the American art glass movement, works by more than 45 glass artists from around the world are showcased in the hotel. On every guest room floor, visitors are greeted by a work from a highlighted artist and panels telling his or her story. In addition to displaying artwork, the Hotel Murano functions like a gallery, educating and inspiring with international talent and the individual story of each artist. With more than 22,000 sq. ft. of meeting space, BITE, the hotel’s fourth floor restaurant, the lobby bar on the first floor and SAVI Day spa, Hotel Murano is a center of social and business activity in Tacoma. The property is located steps away from the museum district and the theater district, and immediately adjacent to the Tacoma Convention Center. It is 20 minutes from Sea-Tac International Airport and 35 minutes from downtown Seattle.
