Ateneo de Manila University is a private, coeducational, Roman Catholic, teaching and research university located in Quezon City, Philippines. It is is comprised of basic, higher, and professional education units. The units of higher education—the School of Humanities, the John Gokongwei School of Management, the School of Science and Engineering, and the School of Social Sciences—are collectively known as the Loyola Schools. The Graduate School of Business, the Law School, the School of Government, and the School of Medicine and Public Health comprise the Professional Schools.

Founded on 25 January 1925 by Don Tomas Mapúa, an architecture graduate of Cornell University in the United States, and the first registered Filipino architect, Mapúa University is the premier Philippine engineering school. It is located in Intramuros, Manila, and in Makati City and runs Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL) in Southern Luzon and Malayan High School of Science (MHSS) in Pandacan, Manila. Mapúa envisions itself to be among the best universities in the world, unceasingly fostering its tradition of excellence in engineering, architecture, information technology, business, and social sciences education. It started offering Senior High School in 2016 with four academic strands - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM); Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS); Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM); and General Academic Strand (GAS).
