We help people with their legal problems. We focus on protecting the rights of Victorians and representing those who need it the most. We provide free legal information and education to all Victorians, with a focus on prevention and early resolution of legal problems. We prioritise more intensive legal services, such as legal advice and representation, for people who meet eligibility criteria, based on their financial situation, the nature and seriousness of their problem and their individual circumstances. Victoria Legal Aid acknowledges the traditional Aboriginal owners of country, recognises their continuing connection to land, water and community and pays respect to Elders past and present. We are committed to providing safe and inclusive legal services.

SSI is a national not-for-profit organisation providing life-changing human and social services. With community at the heart of everything we do, our purpose is to empower individuals, children, families and communities from diverse backgrounds and identities to fully participate in the economic, social, civic and diverse cultural life of Australia, creating a more equitable, resilient, enriched and inclusive society. Since 2018, Queensland-based Access Community Services has been part of the SSI family. And with the opening of our Victorian office that same year, SSI now provides an extensive footprint across the eastern coast of Australia. We realise that no one organisation can achieve social change in isolation. We partner with federal and state government departments and agencies, community-minded businesses and individuals, and we build relationships with domestic and global human-service led organisations and NFPs. We are an umbrella organisation for 15 migrant resource centres, multicultural services and specialist human-services agencies that work together on program delivery, advocacy and sector development.

We’re a non-profit community services organisation and a church that work as one to #DoMoreGood. Our story of faith, hope and commitment began more than 200 years ago, when a pioneering church stepped out to make a difference for people who were being forgotten and marginalised. From those small beginnings grew a bold and lasting mission. Today we’re still relentless in supporting all people, across all stages of life. Our vital community services support children and families, older Australians, people living with disability and people who need pathways out of homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, financial hardship, and tough domestic situations. We invest in communities with safety nets like Lifeline and advocate against systemic injustices like housing inequity and gambling harm. Our churches are places of spiritual growth, connection and hope. In this world of extraordinary shifts, one thing does not change: we remain driven to do more good.
