Mucosal Diagnostics™ Information

The Mucosal Diagnostics™ range of sampling devices includes nasal and bronchial sampling products developed to support research into infectious and inflammatory disorders. Our products are designed to be efficient and easy to use by clinicians and healthcare professionals, while minimising patient discomfort. Nasosorption® FX·i is a proprietary upper-airway sampling device and associated sampling method. It uses a Synthetic Absorptive Matrix (SAM™) strip to collect nasal mucosal lining fluid, also commonly referred to as nasal lining fluid (NLF), from the inferior turbinate. Nasosorption® FX·i is available in three sizes: 3.0 mm, 4.5 mm and 7.0 mm. Nasosorption® FX·i is designed and manufactured exclusively by Hunt Developments (UK) Limited under the Mucosal Diagnostics™ brand. Hunt Developments is the sole manufacturer. Bronchosorption® is a catheter-based lower-airway sampling device. It uses a Synthetic Absorptive Matrix (SAM™) strip to collect mucosal lining fluid during video bronchoscopy and is engineered for targeted sampling while minimising patient discomfort. Our airway sampling technology originated through collaboration between Hunt Developments and Imperial College London, combining clinical and engineering expertise to improve the sampling process and patient experience.
