Mr John E Cunningham Information

Mr John Cunningham is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in the treatment of spinal disorders. He has recently returned to Australia after having spent two years abroad studying the most contemporary treatments in spine surgery. He has also completed a Masters in Epidemiology, and is widely published in journals and regularly presents at international scientific meetings. Whatever the spinal problem, from the neck to the lower back, John will provide an open and honest opinion of what is the likely cause, and of how and when surgey could be of benefit. John practices traditional "open" surgical techniques and has extensive experience with the more modern minimally invasive techniques. He recommends non-operative treatments when appropriate, and encourages patients to explore all avenues of health care. Mr Cunningham sees privately insured, self insured, TAC and WorkCover patients in his private rooms at Richmond and at Frankston. He sees public patients in the clinics at Royal Melbourne Hospital.
