MPS Capital Services (abbreviated as "MPSCS") is an institution specialised in providing financial support and advice to corporates. The company belongs to the Montepaschi Banking Group and is controlled by the Parent Company Banca MPS, which owns 99.92% of its shares. MPSCS was created in 2007 by amalgamating the experience two major operators in the Italian financial world that were already part of the Montepaschi Group: - the corporate lending operations of MPS Banca per l’Impresa, which, under various different names (Mediocredito Toscano, then MPS Merchant and MPS Banca per l’Impresa after the merger in 2004 with MPS Banca Verde) had been active for over 50 years; - the investment banking business of MPS Finance, established in 2001, which in a just a few years had carved itself out position as one of the leading operators in trading and dealing financial instruments with varying degrees of sophistication. The corporate transaction (division by acquisition), which led to the integration of the two Business Areas, enabled an increase in the levels of cross-selling through the completion of the product offer range and the creation of a highly effective distribution model. The MPS CS brand is known throughout the Italian business world. The bank is recognised as one of the leading Italian operators in corporate finance and on the financial markets.
