Mozilla Taiwan was founded on October 19, 2011, and is an independent affiliate of the Mozilla Corporation with headquarters in Taipei, Taiwan. The office was set-up mainly to develop Firefox OS (also known as Boot-to-Gecko project), the open mobile operating system of Mozilla. Before the funding of the office, Mozilla activity in Taiwan is mainly handled by the MozTW, the Mozilla community in Taiwan.
