Infrastructure projects rarely fail due to missing data — they fail because the right data is in the wrong place at the wrong time. MovingLayers solves exactly this problem. As a GIS specialist with deep expertise in geodata analysis and planning, we develop tailored solutions for organisations that don't just want to manage spatial data, but put it to operational use. Our core competency spans the complete geodata value chain: from structured field data collection, through management in administered geodatabases built on PostGIS and QGIS, to automated map generation and spatial analysis for planning, permitting, and decision-making. Three projects illustrate the breadth of our work: For TransnetBW, we developed structured QGIS projects used as a binding communication medium in complex energy grid permitting processes — measurably improving the quality of approval documentation. As part of the Interreg project DIGIWAY, we implemented a cross-border geospatial pipeline as IT partner, harmonising and publishing alpine hiking trail data for the EUREGIO Tyrol-South Tyrol-Trentino. For the FFG-funded initiative ABM4EnergyTransition, we built a web application featuring interactive maps, dashboards, and scenario controls that makes municipal heat planning and energy transition modelling simulatable. What further sets us apart: we translate insights from funded research and innovation projects across the DACH region into market-ready software products — including the MOVERS Survey App for digital field data collection and Kermit GeoAI for natural language geodata analysis directly within QGIS.
