From our original desktop tool for 3d animated filmmaking, to our new immersive VR tool for the previs and delivery of creative productions, Moviestorm is focussed on software solutions that are affordable and easy-to-use, enabling anyone to quickly realise their creative vision. Founded in 2003, we are developer publishers of 'Filmmaker', the 3d animated machinima tool for amateur filmmakers, which since release in 2008 has been used by over four hundred thousand people who have posted tens of thousands of movies online. In 2019, the company successfully delivered a EU Horizon 2020 Research and Development project called first.stage alongside a consortium of European companies and institutions, aimed at the use of natural user interfaces for digital tools in Theatres, Animation and Film & TV production, to intuitively provide creatives with greater control of their previsualisation process, and we are now bringing that research to market as an affordable VR previz toolset called 'FirstStage'. ABOUT FIRSTSTAGE FirstStage is an exploratory pre-production sandpit that will allow your whole production team to practice, explore and perform their roles, individually, or collaboratively on your virtual set in teams. Whether Director, Producer, Designer, Technician or other pre-production team member, you can import, build and light sets and characters, animate performance using mocap, keyframe and physics, choreograph set and stage machinery, film with virtual cameras, and utilise the findings and data in your production workflow to reduce your production risk and cost, and increasing your final quality. FirstStage's real time team collaboration in VR provides limitless stage access for teams to work together on a virtual stage, reducing pandemic exposure and lowering carbon footprint, and it is heaps of fun!
