Our mission is to open eyes for human rights. We use film to stimulate dialogue about a just world, to influence public opinion and to motivate human rights and a sustainable society. We have the vision that the art form film is an extremely strong medium. Where words and writings sometimes fail to really touch people, cinema can break through indifference or cynicism. We generate impact by holding a mirror up to us, providing insight and asking questions. However, we never see film as a conclusive plea, but as a starting point for a process of opinion forming. Our core tasks are to show films about human rights and to stimulate screenings of films about human rights. We accomplish the first core task through the organization of the festival, the educational activities and the organization of events. We accomplish the second core task with consultancy work at home and abroad and supporting festivals abroad. We do not support film production.
