On 1 March 2017, Members overwhelmingly supported to change the name Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union to Unity Bank. The division organisations also changed their names. Reliance Credit Union became Reliance Bank and Collie Miners Credit Union became Unity Bank. On 2 June 2017, Bankstown City Credit Union became a Unity Bank division and changed its name to Bankstown City Unity Bank.
