Motion Foundry Information

Motion Foundry is a film, animation and video production studio based in Kuching, Sarawak — established in 2012. We produce corporate videos, documentaries, brand films, commercials, animation, event films and story-driven visual content for organisations across Malaysia and beyond. We do not simply make videos. We cast stories into the permanent. To cast a story is to find its truest shape — to place the right voice in the right frame, and to create something that holds its form long after the screen goes dark. Over thirteen years, Motion Foundry has produced more than 100 projects across documentary, animation, brand films, commercials, corporate videos and short films for government agencies, tourism boards, oil & gas, hospitality, education, cultural institutions and private enterprises. Our animated short film, Kumang and the Ungrateful Python — inspired by a traditional Iban legend — won the Best Story Award at the 27th DigiCon6 Asia Malaysia Circuit Contest, was an Official Selection at the Malaysia Animation Film Festival 2025, and was shortlisted as a Gold Nominee at the regional stage. We are currently in production on The White Rajah of Sarawak, a feature-length animated musical film adapted from the original stage musical by St Joseph’s Private Education Berhad. Rooted in the multicultural history of Sarawak, the film draws from the voices of the Dayak, Malay and Chinese communities that shaped this place. Beyond client production, Motion Foundry develops original intellectual property — animated and live-action stories drawn from the heritage of Sarawak and Borneo for regional and international audiences. We also work with international agencies on a white-label basis, and directly with brands, institutions and organisations that understand the difference between content and craft. Forged in Borneo.
