The Montréal Climate Partnership (MCP) is an independent initiative bringing together economic, nonprofit, philanthropic and institutional organizations. Its objective is to mobilize the Montréal community to help reduce Greenhouse gas emissions by 55% by 2030 and put the city on the path to carbon neutrality by 2050. The MCP follows the successful collaboration established in 2018–2019 by a group of philanthropic foundations with the City of Montréal and C40 cities to develop the City's Climate Plan, and draws inspiration from the best mobilization models around the world, such as the Boston Green Ribbon Commission and the London Business Climate Leaders. The initiative places Montréal among the world's leading C40 cities by making the ecological transition a pillar of its economic prosperity and attractiveness. The initiative is funded by the Foundation of Greater Montréal, the Trottier Family Foundation, The McConnell Foundation and the City of Montréal.
