2011:MOJO Volleyball Academy was created in Spring 2011 by Coach John Delaney. The Academy began with small group instruction. After several successful clinics, MOJO Volleyball Academy organized it's first-week long day camp for 75 players at Washington-Lee High School. In the fall of 2011, MOJO launched it's first youth volleyball league. 55 participants took part in a 10 week learn & play league that was coached by MOJO staff and varsity players from Washington-Lee High School. 2012:With the success of MOJO's previous summer/fall activities, the demand for more instruction led MOJO to add an additional week long evening camp. With this addition, MOJO was able to offer instruction to over 135 participants throughout the summer. The fall youth league was also increasingly successful with the league facilitating to over 85 participants between the ages of 10-14. In August of 2012, with the high demand for more elite experiences, MOJO decided to offer competitive travel volleyball teams and created, MOJO Elite Volleyball Club. This first season included 5 teams between the ages of U12 and U16s, with 6 coaches. After the initial 2012-2013 Elite season, multiple MOJO teams ranked in the top 25 within the Chesapeake Region. This stat is nearly unheard of for a first-year club, and something we are very proud of! 2013:In 2013, MOJO expanded upon the day and evening camps by adding mini-camps and specialized skill/position clinics for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players throughout the summertime. The fall youth league was moved to a new facility to accommodate the growth of the the U12s and U13/14s age groups. MOJO Elite also added two new age groups to its team list: U11s Ignite and U18s Burn. MOJO was the only club in Northern Virginia that offered a U11s experience for young players. In 2013 MOJO Elite grew to 7 teams with 10 coaches. 2014:The summer of 2014 marked a new milestone with most participants served. With 2 Day Camps and skill specific clinics, MOJO Volleyball served over 225 youth in the DMV area in the summer of 2014. Additionally, the fall youth league produced its largest numbers with over 120 participants. MOJO Elite once again added to it's team list, adding U13s Flames, which gave the club 8 teams with a total of 16 coaches. With MOJO's large growth in just 4 years, other clubs in the area began to take notice. In 2014, MOJO Elite and NVVA partnered to handle administrative duties, add a Nike sponsorship and focus on growing the game in a wider Northern Virginia area. 2015:The game of volleyball continues to grow exponentially every year. MOJO Volleyball Academy was able to add a summer youth league. In order to continue having the best coaching staff in the area, we added instructional clinics exclusively for our Elite staff.
