Established by Kala Murphy, her late Aunt Marie, and late sister Beth, the business was born of a passion for sewing and creating. Over the years, we have grown the shop from only a few hundred bolts of fabric to over 10,000 bolts of the industry's finest quilt-shop quality fabrics. We also expanded the store's products and services to include sewing machine sales, service, and training in 1984. Today, The Fabric Garden continues a long tradition of excellence as an authorized dealer and service provider for the innovative Janome and Necchi brands, offering over 25 models of sewing, embroidery, and longarm quilting machines (free lessons provided with each machine purchase for residents of Maine). Our friendly, knowledgeable staff has over 250 years of combined sewing and quilting experience. We specialize in providing each customer with expert product advice, ongoing support, and personalized service, to ensure a productive and fulfilling sewing experience. Karin's background includes 25 years in the textile industry in design and product development for apparel and home furnishings fabrics and finished products.
