Modular Robotics designs and builds robot construction kits for kids. Founded in 2008 as a spin-off company from Carnegie Mellon University, our mission is to give people the tools to build and manipulate complex physical systems and enable them through play to critically learn about design, complexity, and the natural world. Funded in part by grants from the National Science Foundation, we make Cubelets, the world’s first robot blocks. Uniquely designed, they are little bundles of software inside little bundles of hardware. These little robots teach big lessons such as robotics, engineering, design thinking, tactile coding, and computational thinking to builders of nearly any age.
