Modular Group has the vision of setting a new standard for the leisure building industry. How it Began... Ian Alderson followed a long career, starting at the age of 16, in landscaping and ground works. He worked on contracts big and small then built a garden supplies business from scratch with his father. Not content with just selling Ian developed Garden Storage products using trial and error and many prototypes. Ian then turned his attention to producing outdoor buildings, constructed using timber frame. By 2014 Ian had developed a successful garden storage manufacturing business, sited on land which was fields prior to 2005. Offices on the site, built by Ian and his father, were rented out and Ian was looking to develop small buildings using new innovative techniques. Structural Insulated Panels was the best choice. Rather than buying pre-made panels he took the opportunity to manufacture the panels by developing the manufacturing methods and fabricating the jigs. The outcome of this dedication was the ability to produce high quality buildings for use all year round. Moving to larger premises in 2016 because the business was growing the development of sips buildings and self build kits continued. In 2017 even larger premises were needed to meet the volume of orders and produce larger buildings.
