Modern Samurai Competitors

Bushido Martial Arts Academy is a family oriented, traditional Okinawan karate school with personal safety and achievement based learning at the core of our curriculum. We are well established and have over 40 years of teaching experience. As we continue to serve families in Pinellas County, our vow is to continue in the traditions and excellence taught to us by our predecessors. Bushido Martial Arts Academy has structured classes in a positive, safe, family-friendly environment. Our mission is to motivate you to set high goals for yourself, and to find the discipline and determination to fulfill those goals. Whether you're interested in getting fit, learning self-defense or competing in tournaments, we are here to help you do that. We hope that our mission will become your mission as Bushido Martial Arts Academy is a means to finding yourself and your full potential, who you really are and what you really want, while enjoying inner peace and a lifetime of happiness. We will help you and your family focus on self-defense, fitness, and becoming a better person through hard work and determination. Teaching both kids and adults effective self-defense techniques like epic kicks, powerful punches and strategic strikes; learning and practicing self-control, discipline and respect, while becoming physically and mentally strong, fit and healthy are some of our top priorities. And the best part about our classes is that they are all incredibly FUN and EXCITING! Laughing, smiling and cheering each other on happen all the time and it's hugely inspiring for both the students and the instructors! Bushido Martial Arts Academy is intended to become a way of life for our students. We will help you discover and unleash the giant within you by providing a fun and encouraging place where you can explore the possibilities of what you are able to accomplish.

We offer free trial classes, both so potential students can evaluate us and we can evaluate them to ensure a good fit. Prior training in martial arts is not required. Physical prowess is not required. Complete dedication is not required or even considered healthy. The study of Budo and Bushido is part of our lives, it isn't our life. Rigid discipline and unexamined ritual is not part of what we do. Many schools claim that their art is taught to the special operations community. They do this by riding on the reputation and success of others. We actually have members of the special operations community training with us. That is the level and quality of training we provide. That they have brought their family in to train with us is another testament to our training hall. Our dojo is built for working professionals, real people with real lives. Involvement of the whole family is welcome and encouraged. All people of good character are welcome to join us. Please contact us for a free trial class when you are interested in training.
