Modern Bloom Information

Modern Bloom is a research project run in collaboration with leading universities (Brown, Stanford), Array Education, and funded by Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings. Forty years ago, Benjamin Bloom published what became the most famous paper in education research. It demonstrated a "Two Sigma" effect; a method capable of moving a child from the 50th to the 98th percentile. Since then, no project has been able to replicate these results. By recruiting the best tutors on the planet, sparing no expenses for teacher training or materials, and leveraging modern advances in education technology, we hope to achieve similar groundbreaking results. The project follows rigorous methods, pre-registers its design, and will publish all methods in detail so future educators, researchers, and builders can build on what we find.
