Model Engines (Aust.) Pty. Ltd. was commenced in 1980 by the father and son team of Tony & Mike Farnan. This was a follow on from the original hobby company, O.S. Distributors (Aust.) Pty. Ltd., which was established in 1953 by Tony Farnan who pioneered the introduction of O.S engines into Australia as the exclusive agents. The business imports and distributes, on an exclusive basis, model radio control equipment, engines, kits and a full range of accessories with spare parts. These products are sold on a wholesale basis to the total network of retail hobby and toyshops throughout Australia and New Zealand. Operating solely as a wholesaler, the company does not sell direct to the public, thus ensuring the full support of all shopkeepers.
