We are creating a suite of mobile apps for medical professionals, designed to help with the complexity of their everyday tasks. Modern medicine has advanced to the degree to where the human memory isn’t a sufficient tool. An Israeli study found that ICU patients, during a 24-hour period, require 178 separate actions, ranging from administering drugs to suctioning the lungs, in order to maintain their care. This complexity of care can and does result in mistakes. Despite staggering advances in medicine, infection, complications and deaths are caused every year by completely preventable mistakes. The advancement of medicine has created a need for a set of tools that will aid medical professionals in managing daily tasks and patient treatment. We have created iPhone and iPad apps that specifically target the daily tasks of medical professionals that can be improved with mobile technology.
