MOPO is a pay-per-use battery technology company focussed on the supply of sustainable energy to individuals and businesses in Africa. Utilising MOPO’s proprietary technology platform, the Company rents its unique MOPO Batteries from solar powered recharging hubs which are managed by a network of local agents. Its portfolio includes the MOPO50 battery, which provides basic household energy access for lighting, phone charging and Direct Current (DC) appliances; and the MOPOMax battery, which can be used to replace small petrol generators (0-4kVA) and as a battery swap for e-motorbike taxis. MOPO’s highly scalable model is redefining how clean sustainable energy is deployed across Africa without the need for unaffordable consumer finance. Africa has over 1 billion people without access to stable power infrastructure a situation that creates huge demand for the Company’s batteries. Carrying out over 6 million rentals per year, MOPO currently has operations in Nigeria, DRC, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Chad, and Uganda, and plans to roll out its service across Africa.
