Chippa United on their arrival to the event, hosted by their Boss Siviwe "Chippa"Mpengesi in his home village Joined by the MEC Sports, Recreation, Arts & Culture Fezeka Nkomonye-Bayeni and the Executive Mayor of Mnquma Local Municipality Cllr Sithembiso Ncetezo, Mpengesi distributed 10 Soccer and netball kits to eight local shools and two local teams. He also donated 100 blankets to the elderly of his home village as good deeds during the Nelson Mandela month. Mnquma Mayoral Committee members Cllr Manxila (Portfolio Head Strategic Management), Cllr Plaatjie (Portfolio Head LED & Planning) and Cllr Mtsi (Portfolio Head Special Programmes) together with learners during an extended Back to School Campaign, where the municipality gave away 20 school uniforms to learners at Matolweni and Cilo JSS in Centane and Ngqamakwe on the 16th & 17th July 2019 Mnquma has declared war on potholes, undertaking a vigourus rehabilitation of the main taxi routes from Butterworth CBD and covering Msobomvu, Vuli Valley, Mchubakazi and Extension 24 townships right up to the old factories, to improve driving comfort and keep the local economy in motion. ANC Chief Whip Minister Pemmy Majodina together with MTN SA Foundation and accompanied by Mnquma Executive Mayor Cllrs Sithembiso Ncetezo, Municipal Manager Silumko Mahlasela, Department of Education Official and Scholar Transport Coordinator Mr Susela and Ms Hobeni, among other dignatories, delivered 100 school shoes and 50 Bicycles to Zwelandile JSS at Mncuncuzo Village in Butterworth. Learners celebrated in song and dance, together with ANC Chief Whip Minister Pemmy Majodina, Mnquma Executive Mayor Cllr Sithembiso Ncetezo and Municipal Manager Silumko Mahlasela, at the arrival of much needed school shoes and bicycles for them to attend school with pride.
