M. L. Ruberton Construction Company, Inc. was started in the early 1930s by the late Michael L. Ruberton. Initially a home builder in the South Jersey market, over the years the company changed to a commercial general contractor with a diversified group of customers. The cornerstone of the company's success came from the founder's dedication to quality construction completed on time and on budget. This philosophy has been passed along to the second and third generations, and is currently being taught to the fourth generation. Ownership has continually strived to increase its business through the creation and acquisition of additional divisions that diversify what we offer our customers. Since the early 1960's, Ruberton Construction has specialized in the construction and maintenance of gasoline service stations for major customers including Exxon, Mobil, Sunoco, Texaco and Shell. During this time, we completed various other projects, but they were not the company's main focus. Through the decade of the 90's and into the new century, Ruberton was forced to change the nature of its business from working mainly for the major oil companies to other types of general construction. This was necessitated by the major oil companies deciding to sell off the South Jersey market, our primary area of work. During this time we started doing more general construction work on various projects. Examples include a school addition for the New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation (NJSCC), a kitchen renovation at the New Lisbon Developmental Center for the New Jersey Department of the Treasury-Division of Property Management & Construction (DPMC), the interior & exterior renovation of a 104,000 sf warehouse into office space for Bellevue Properties Group. Our most recent addition is a division that installs all types of Highway Guide Rail, Overhead Sign Structures, Sign Foundations, Signs (Overhead and ground mount) and Fencing. We have seasoned, highly skilled crews with many years of experienced, that make this addition a true member of our growing group of service that we can offer our customers.
