מקום לשירה הוקם בשנת 2002 ומאז משמש בית ליצירה ספרותית בירושלים, ולכותבות וכותבים בעיר. פעילותנו כוללת את בית הספר לאמנויות המילה, בית ספר גבוה לכתיבה הראשון מסוגו בישראל, הוצאה לאור, כתבי עת (“ננופואטיקה” ו״מַעְלָה״), סדנאות כתיבה לילדים, מבוגרים ואוכלוסיות מיוחדות, פסטיבלים לשירה (״מטר על מטר״ והפסטיבל הבינלאומי לשירה), אירועי ספרות ותערוכות שירה.
