The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) is the highest legal entity in Turkey representing the private sector.
Similar to the patterns of guilds and syndicates, which traditionally organized and represented tradesmen and producers throughout the Turkish History, TOBB, too, adopted a representative role in a democratic and modern society.
Today, TOBB has 365 members in the form of local chambers of commerce, industry, commerce and industry, maritime commerce and commodity exchanges.
Law #5590 on the Chambers, Commodity Exchanges and Union was promulgated on 8 March 1950 and entered into force upon its publication in the Official Gazette #7457 of 15 March 1950.
Recently The Law #5174 replaced Law #5590 and has been effective as 1 June 2004.
The Banks Association of Turkey is a professional organization, which is a legal entity with the status of a public institution.
The purpose of the Association is to preserve the rights and benefits of banks, to carry on studies for the growth of the banking sector, for its robust functioning and the development of banking profession, strengthening of competition power, to take the decisions/ensure that they are taken to prevent unfair competition, to implement and demand implementation of these decisions, in line with the principles of open market economics and perfect competition and the regulations, principles and rules of banking.
All deposit banks, development and investment banks operating in Turkey are obliged to become members of this Association and to comply with the provisions of this Statute, and to implement the decisions taken by the authorized bodies of the Association.
The head office of the Association is in Istanbul.
Turkish Exporters Assembly was established to guide Türkiye's foreign trade, determine export policy, improve market diversity, and facilitate the competition of exporters in the international arena.
Its roots; based on decree dated 4 March 1937 and 2/6107 which are the instruction of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic; Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the only umbrella organization of our Exporters Associations and Turkish Export, represents over 95 thousand exporters with 27 sectors and 61 Exporters Associations.
Our Assembly, which was established in 1993 by the decision of the Council of Ministers, continues its activities within the framework of the Law published in the Official Gazette in 2009 (July 3, 2009, Official Gazette, Issue: 27277, Law No. 5910 Turkish Exporters Assembly and Law on the Establishment and Duties of Exporters Associations).
Turkish Exporters Assembly strongly carries out activities aimed at removing all obstacles to industry, production, and exports to ensure the uninterrupted continuation of dialogue between the public and exporters.
TİM prepares strategic plans for the development of the country's economy and export, shares it with all ministries, institutions, and organizations, especially the Presidency and the Ministry of Commerce. Our Assembly, which has been carrying out effective efforts to ensure that our exporters have a strong market share in the international arena with their strong representation capability.
In addition, TİM is becoming more and more effective with its audience, which it serves through its affiliated exporters associations. TİM also coordinates relations with the foreign trade communities of the countries in which it cooperates. Within this framework, our Assembly, which is a member of the International Trade Center (ITC), represents Türkiye under the ITC and develops its relations with other foreign trade development organizations that are members of the ITC.
