MJP Architects was established in 1972 and is based in Spitalfields, London. The practice changed its name from MacCormac Jamieson Prichard in June 2008 and has been owned and ultimately controlled by its staff through an Employee Benefit Trust since October 2007. We specialise in projects on sensitive sites involving delicate planning negotiations and high quality design to achieve consent. Our buildings do not have a recognisable style 'signature', although they share spatial, formal and technical themes, particularly an interest in historical precedents and an innovative approach to structure and the use of materials. Our portfolio spans early housing in Milton Keynes and at Oxford and Cambridge universities through to later work including Cable & Wireless in Coventry, the Wellcome Wing of the London Science Museum, the Ruskin Archive at the University of Lancaster and Southwark Station on the Jubilee Line. Recent work includes Kendrew Quadrangle for St Johns College, Oxford; the British Embassy in Bangkok; a new FE College in Harrow, masterplans for the Universities of Warwick, Birmingham and UCL, and a range of housing developments. Our work has won 21 RIBA Awards and 24 Civic Trust awards and commendations, and we have been published in all the major UK architectural titles, including Architectural Review, Architecture Today, Architects' Journal, Building and Building Design, as well as magazines in Germany, Japan, Italy, China and the US.
