I was a new business owner and extremely excited. I had a career in customer service through my position in a supermarket and a financial background from my time in the restaurant industry. I combined what I learned and started a company of my own. I had been exposed to a "wire house" mentality at other firms before I opened shop and knew I wanted to take a different approach. I was not and am still not the suit and tie executive, but I pride myself being the "everyman. I wanted to create an atmosphere where I, and more importantly my clients, felt comfortable and safe. Since we started the firm has seen some tumultuous times. The aftermath of 9/11/01 left people devastated and created a very curious and distressing time to be in the industry. Then 2007 and 2008, the housing market crash, and the banking scenario hit, and it hit hard. As investors looked for someone to turn to many advisors felt like they were in the same boat. It felt like the market would never regain its footing, but it did. Fast forward to present day and I am happy to say that New Horizon Financial weathered those storms. Now stronger than ever, I have a team around me that is intelligent and ambitious. I've recently been able to integrate a young, vibrant office with an experienced representative who brings her knowledge to a new generation. The New Horizon Financial family has grown over time.
