Even my husband, who is an airline captain with nearly 30 years experience was hesitant. We really did our research on this one. This is a family run outfit that since its inception in the 80s, has had NO accidents. All of the staff we encountered were extremely professional and friendly. The aircraft and the outfit itself, from what we could tell, was very well maintained. Our pilot, Davey, is a born-in-Ketchikan local, with 23 years of flight experience in the area. He immediately put our nerves at ease with his relaxed manner and knowledge of the area, its skies, wildlife and geography. Are these guys a little pricier than the competition? Perhaps. Yet the piece of mind that comes with knowing that your pilot is a full time, experienced local aviator and not a John Denver, is beyond priceless; especially during this nationwide pilot shortage.
