The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) leads the fight to protect children by creating vital services for them and the people who keep them safe. Every child deserves a safe childhood. Since 1984, NCMEC has served as the national clearinghouse and resource center for families, victims, private organizations, law enforcement and the public on issues relating to missing and sexually exploited children.

The International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC) empowers and equips the global community to protect children from abduction, sexual abuse, and exploitation. Through high quality research, advocacy, education, and technical assistance, the International Centre addresses the need for cutting-edge solutions to these problems. Since its inception, ICMEC has trained over 16,000 law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and specialists around the world on how to handle child protection cases; helped 19 countries develop Rapid Emergency Child Alert Systems similar to AMBER Alert in the U.S; created a Global Missing Children's center comprised of 30 member countries on 5 continents; created a Global Health Coalition of 33 members, including 4 of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world; and, since our Child Sexual Abuse Material: Model Legislation & Global Review was released in 2006, 150 countries have refined or implemented new anti-CSAM laws. Missing Children Europe is the European federation for missing and sexually exploited children, representing 33 organisations in 27 countries. Our mission is to protect children from any kind of violence, abuse or neglect that is caused by or results from them going missing. Every two minutes, a child is reported missing in the EU. The cause as well as the effect of the disappearance may include situations of violence and abuse, including sexual exploitation. Missing Children Europe’s vision is that all children should be able to rely on effective and holistic systems of child protection, where all measures are taken to empower and protect them from any situation of harm.
