Born of a desire to improve the visibility of female role models in geek and gaming culture. Creating a future where people of all genders can participate in geek and gamer culture without fear of prejudice or mistreatment, enjoying acceptance and opportunity. Mission: To support and encourage women in geek and gamer culture. **Who are “The Misscliks?” Community leaders who have committed to using their voices and community presence to further the causes of women in geek and gamer culture. **Who is the Misscliks Community? Although Misscliks are dedicated to the advancement of women in geek and gamer culture, the Misscliks community is made up of people of many genders. **The Misscliks Values Pledge: -AUTHENTICITY: I am involved with the gaming community, nerd culture, and/or other geekish pursuits with true love and real ownership. -ADVOCACY: I recognize that, for many reasons, the road to acceptance for geek and gamer women can be rough and demoralizing. I believe that in order to pave the way for gender equality in future nerd generations, geek and gamer girls need strong, positive female role models - for which reason I will further the causes of such women. -UNITY: I believe that unity makes us strong, so I will do my best to honor the good that is in my female peers by building them up, providing constructive help, and avoiding actions that could cut them down. -BRAVERY: I commit to standing my ground, defending the right to be a woman in a man’s world, even when it feels I or my female peers are not wanted or appreciated.
