At the Wildlife Conservation Society, we harness the power of our zoos and aquarium in New York City and our field conservation work around the globe to save wildlife and wild places. Our model: connecting millions of visitors at our urban wildlife parks with the largest and longest-standing field conservation program. In New York, we run the leading zoo in the US, the Bronx Zoo, as well as the Central Park Zoo, Queens Zoo, Prospect Park Zoo, and the New York Aquarium. We also employ the largest field-based conservation program, operating in more than 50 countries. These two activities are deeply connected and mutually supportive.

Osa Conservation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the unparalleled biodiversity of the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica. Osa Conservation’s mission is to conserve the globally significant terrestrial and marine biological diversity of the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica by implementing ecosystem stewardship, enhancing scientific understanding, providing education and training, and creating sustainable economic opportunities. Our vision is for Osa’s environment and communities to thrive in perpetuity. We believe in a holistic approach to conservation, one grounded in a systematic understanding of the ecological, social, and economic relationships that shape environmental problems. Our work is founded in science and supported by strategic partnerships, well-informed decision-making processes, and a strong commitment to improving lives through protecting nature. We recognize that in order for conservation to succeed, it must be coupled with science, community engagement, and strong systems of support upon which to collaboratively build a more sustainable future.

The Costa Rican National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) integrally manages the conservation and sustainable management of wildlife, forest resources, protected areas, watersheds and water systems, together with actors in society, for the wellness of current and future generations. A National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) that leads the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and natural resources, through participatory and equitable management, contributing to sustainable development in Costa Rica.
