Milltons brings together patients and researchers in masse to discover new therapeutic mechanisms to painful and life-threatening chronic illnesses. We do not patent any of our findings, but try to impact patient’s life today instead of in the distant future. The objective is to reduce UNNECESSARY suffering and/or deterioration through smarter diagnostics or mechanical innovations in treatments. Naturally, our priorities are rare diseases and chronic neurodegenerative complications… as both tend to have much unnecessary/avoidable pains and deteriorations. We are always on the lookout for creative researchers to collaborate with. Nordic Diabetes Project- We are currently studying in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway three elements (in masse) in diabetes: - Better diagnosis of GI in diabetes (misdiagnosis impacts over 50% of the diabetic population). - Mapping out the different neurodegenerative complications occurring at varying speeds. - Establishing links between retinal neurodegeneration and other neurovascular complications. A main objective of the project is to establish monitoring the retina as a mainstream diagnostic tool for conditions where the links are already established like Diabetic Retinopathy, Alzheimer’s Disease, Cardiac…etc. Cystic Fibrosis- We studied for 6 months the impact of moving PERT, earlier, to the stomach instead of the intestine. Results were a reduction in painful symptoms by over 50% and a reduction of Lipase intake by around 80%. PS- people with CF can consume an average of 20 to 40 pills A DAY of digestive enzymes.
