Migration Studies Information

Migration Studies is a peer-reviewed, online-only journal dedicated to deepening understanding of human mobility in all its forms. We publish research on the drivers, processes, and consequences of migration, voluntary or forced, internal or international, historical or contemporary, drawing on the social sciences and related fields. We welcome contributions that offer theoretical innovation, comparative insight, or methodological advancement. Submissions should speak to broader debates in migration studies, with clear analytical relevance beyond a single case or context. Our editorial process combines fairness and transparency: we use a partial triple-anonymized review model. All manuscripts are first assessed anonymously by the editorial team, then move to a double-anonymized external review if appropriate. Migration Studies publishes original research articles and thematic special issues led by Deputy Editor Professor Maria Koinova. We encourage work that pushes migration scholarship forward, engages critically with relevant literature, and strengthens interdisciplinary exchange.
