MiDOG Animal Diagnostics is a veterinary diagnostic laboratory advancing infectious disease testing through next-generation DNA sequencing (NGS). By analyzing microbial DNA directly from submitted samples, MiDOG provides broader microbial insight without relying on organisms to grow in culture. Depending on the test ordered, MiDOG can evaluate bacteria, fungi, parasites, antimicrobial resistance markers, and toxin- and biofilm-associated genes. Our genomic reference databases span more than 64,800 bacteria, 4,100 fungi, 4,300 parasites and protozoa, and 6,000 antimicrobial resistance markers. Designed for any animal species and a wide range of sample types, MiDOG testing helps veterinary teams investigate culture-negative, polymicrobial, chronic, recurrent, unusual, and difficult-to-resolve infections. Testing options include MiDOG All-in-One Expanded Testing and focused Parasite-Only Testing. With results typically available within 2-3 business days, clinically structured reports, and complimentary veterinary consultation support, MiDOG helps clinicians interpret a broader microbial picture alongside the patient’s history, clinical signs, sample type, and other diagnostic findings.
