Located in Santa Rosa, California, MicroSource was founded in 1980 by three engineers from the Hewlett Packard Corporation. Their charter then, as it is today, is to design, develop, and manufacture a complete family of microwave and millimeter wave components, systems, and sub-systems for use in military defense applications, test and measurement systems, and wireless telecommunication networks. MicroSource's core technology, YIG (Yttrium Iron Garnet) components and sub-systems, are naturally suited to, and used in, systems worldwide with a broad range of applications. These applications include free-running and phase locked Oscillators in narrow and wideband configurations, tunable Band Pass and Band-Reject Filter Systems, and narrow and wide band frequency Synthesizers and components for Broadband Wireless, 3G, and Satellite telecommunication applications. MicroSource offers an extensive array of products and capabilities that are routinely used as building blocks for unique, customer specific designs. MicroSource's flexible manufacturing facility allows for both small-lot and high-volume production capacities for military defense and commercial applications. Our products are designed to withstand the harsh environmental requirements of the defense electronic and telecommunication industries. We subject all of our defense products to the shock, vibration, and burn-in tests of MIL-STD-202 and MIL-STD-883. Our quality system conforms to MIL-I-45208 and the intent of ISO 9001. Since 1998, MicroSource has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Giga-tronics, a leading microwave and RF test equipment manufacturer.
