MicroSintesis is a Canadian biotechnology company decoding microbial signals to understand, predict and influence bacterial behaviour. Our technology platform is built around quorum sensing — the signalling systems microorganisms use to coordinate behaviour. By understanding and modulating these signals, we are developing a new generation of microbiome technologies designed to influence microbial function without relying solely on killing or replacing bacteria. We have invested approximately C$20.5 million in building our technology, intellectual property, manufacturing capabilities and Gen 1 product portfolio, with validation across poultry, swine and companion animal applications. Our first-generation technologies are produced through the biotransformation of milk-derived proteins, creating complex bioactive peptide ensembles associated with changes in microbial behaviour. Today, we are advancing this platform across four connected areas: production animal nutrition and health, targeted life-stage nutrition, premium companion-animal nutrition, and skin/topical applications. Alongside commercialization of our first products, we are building the next generation of the platform: integrating microbial signalling, biological data and AI to accelerate the discovery, development and translation of new interventions.
