Established in 1997, Microcell Group, was an original design manufacturer (ODM) of wireless global systems for mobile communications (GSM), general packet radio service (GPRS) and enhanced data rates for global systems for mobile communications evolution (EDGE) handset products. Microcell's operations included product creation centers in Finland and Denmark, Business Operations offices in Switzerland and the U.S. with a large scale manufacturing operation in Nanjing, China. . The company had 5 locations within Finland: Oulu (HQ), Raahe, Kuopio, Turku and Helsinki. World-wide presence: USA, China, Denmark, Switzerland Microcell's customers were the worlds leading Mobile Phone companies and Mobile Phone Operators. In 2001, Microcell designed and developed the worlds smallest Tri-Band GSM phone for one of Europe's largest OEM handset providers. This first of its kind product set performance standards within the industry and led to record sales throughout Europe.
