Micro Touch is a leader in off-road racing. Micro Touch founder, Gary Fries, has been an off-road enthusiast since 1973. Gary got his first motorcycle at the age of ten. His first car was a Myers Manx style buggy that he built from a pan buggy in 1971. After abusing the stock suspension well past the destruction threshold, Gary "triple shocked" the rear end. This sparked the beginning of an addiction for off-road performance. Gary then purchased his first buggy from Brian Skipper (now owner of Sway-A-Way Products) in 1973 and started racing it in the local AMSA races held at Saddleback Park and Santa Maria, CA. The competition at these races was pretty tough. Fellow racers you might recognize included Parnelli Jones, Rick, Roger and Bill Mears, Bobby Ferro and more. AMSA racing was great! The next step was a new race at Riverside Raceway promoted by SCORE. Gary entered every race SCORE held at Riverside and raced everything from Class 1 and Class 2 to Class 8.
