Michael Stimson is the President of Michael Stimson International, Inc. (MSI), a firm he founded in 2004. For over 7 years Michael has provided professional services to award winning spas worldwide, offering cutting edge designs, successful spa development plans, manufacturing of innovative spa equipment, and complete installation and operations. Specializing in Hydrothermal Experiences, Michael is an established and respected spa professional with 35 years of diversified leisure and aquatic experience. In addition to his background in the spa industry, Michael has extensive experience in the design and construction of major commercial water parks, swim centers and water features for commercial and residential clients. From multi million dollar build outs to simple equipment replacements, Michael offers a hands on, roll up your sleeves, can do approach to each and every project. Michael has experience in virtually all aspects of the spa design and construction industry, whether independently or in partnership with clients, spa professionals or subcontractors. Clients seek out and refer Michael because of his professionalism, proven ability to get the job done, creativity, problem solving, and in depth knowledge of every aspect of a design build project. Michael's contribution to the American Spa Industry is significant; he directed the design and creation of a product line of spa equipment that is manufactured in the US and internationally competitive. Having worked with multiple European manufacturers, Michael concluded that the American Spa industry would benefit from a manufacturer based in the US. Michael's goal was to create an alternative source for spa projects in the US, providing equipment manufactured in the US as well as inspected and serviced in the US. He thus formed an alliance with a US manufacturer to expedite the development of a new product line in order to benefit his clients and vendors. In 2010, Michael chose to again lead his own company, and add to MSI's portfolio the offering of alternative energy use and sustainable design for professional spas and acquatic facilities. Michael earned a Bachelors Degree in cultural Anthropology from the University of Maryland, and a Certificate of Project Management from the Clark School for Construction Management and Supervision, Bethesda, MD. Michael is a Licensed Class A Contractor with the Commonwealth of Virginia. Having spent his childhood between the US and Germany, Michael is bilingual in English and German. With an international background, Michael is truly comfortable and effective working with both US and international clients. He is an avid hockey player and boater, and enjoys driving his 1966 Ford Fairlane.
