Metropolitan are a family-run business and have operated in and around the Black Country area for the past 40 years. Our background is from trading within the steel stockholding industry though we have over the past decade diversified into the manufacturing, property and leisure sectors. Founded by David Broadhurst in the 1960's Metropolitan have seen the UK steel industry sadly diminish over the past fifteen years and we have reallocated resources into other market sectors. We have built new manufacturing concerns and we own a number of golf courses including the well known Bidford Grange near Stratford-on-Avon and Tidbury Green near Solihull. David's immediate family still run Metropolitan and we have, in recent years also moved into the property sector, involved in both residential and commercial development and investment. We started this process by refurbishing and then letting to tenants buildings previously in use by our steel businesses. Since then, we have bought further property and land to develop and continue to do so.
