Fletcher Building has proudly called New Zealand home since 1909, and today, we employ over 12,500+ people across New Zealand, Australia, and the South Pacific. Our operations are focused on the manufacture and distribution of building products in Australia and New Zealand, as well as housing development and commercial, infrastructure and roading projects in New Zealand only. We manufacture building products; from insulation that keeps homes warm and dry to cement, the foundation of built structures the world over. We operate retail businesses that distribute these products, and many more, to tradespeople right across the Tasman. And we build homes and deliver infrastructure and roading projects that create communities, improve productivity and contribute to the quality of life for people living and working in cities and regions across our markets. Fletcher Building is dual listed on the NZX and ASX and operates through six divisions – Building Products, Distribution, Concrete, Residential and Development, Construction and Australia. Across all of our operations we strive for excellence in efficiency, innovation, health and safety and environmental performance.

We understand that every project is different so we provide flexible options to manage budgets and time frames. Our proposals always include detailed cost schedules and timelines. The best results are achieved when we are involved from the conceptual stages providing budgeting and methodology advice, working alongside the architect and client. Having a builder who has been familiar with a project from the beginning, results in many huge benefits – teamwork, good communication, no nasty surprises with budgets and deadlines, and a completed project that meets or exceeds expectations.

PrefabNZ is the hub for pre-built construction in New Zealand. We work at the interface between government, industry organisations and members. We provide a forum for members to make wider contacts, form collaborations and learn new skills. PrefabNZ has three roles, as: • - a catalyst for prefab collaboration, • - a front-door-portal for prefab information and • - an incubator for prefab innovation We are passionate about how prefabrication can offer innovative high-quality buildings on time and within budget. There is a clear need for a radical paradigm shift to improve building quality in a sustainable way by decreasing defects, while also decreasing costs and timeframes. An increased uptake of prefabrication is for the good of New Zealand’s wider design and construction industry. Our mission is to double the uptake of prefabrication in NZ by 2020. BRANZ has measured this as 17% today (by overall cost of the prefabricated components of residential and non-residential buildings), so we are aiming for at least an increase to 40% by 2020. We are a self-sustaining non-profit incorporated society representing the interests of a wide range of materials and stakeholders in the design and construction sector: from clients through to designers, specifiers, manufacturers, contractors and government.
