Metals in Motion was founded as St. Clair Refractories, Alloys, Metals, Inc. in 1995 by Tony Sparks. Tony brought his experience from Birmingham Alloys and developed a customer base of both ferrous and non-ferrous foundries across the southeastern United States. The next several years saw his sons, first Mark in 1995, followed by Sean in 1998, join the company, bringing valuable years of experience in several different career fields. With growth brought the need to expand, and a small brick building located in Ashville, AL served as the first home office for the thriving business. Materials were warehoused and shipped from a warehouse in nearby Anniston, just a short distance away. In 2001, SCRAM grew yet again, this time into a newly-constructed 15,000 square foot warehouse and office located at its present address: 260 Fant Drive.
