Medimetrix was founded by Joseph M. Davis, Ph.D., in 1987, with the goal of facilitating business relationships between hospitals, insurers and physicians - particularly risk-based relationships. By the mid-'90s, Medimetrix had grown into the largest standalone strategic consulting practice in the country and was providing services to all sectors of the healthcare industry. Medimetrix operated out of several cities and was headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. In the late 90s, Medimetrix began selling off most of its practices and narrowed its focus to strategic engagements primarily for health systems and insurers. During this same period, Medimetrix developed The Spirit of Women® program, which is used today in more than 100 health systems nationwide and compromise over 40% of the U.S. healthcare market, as well as the HeartCaring program, which creates partnerships to connect consumers with designated hospitals and clinicians committed to gender-sensitive practice for prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and conditions. In 2005, Medimetrix began narrowing its practice primarily to existing relationships and currently only occasionally takes on a new client, typically an organization lacking meaningful history at an executive level. In 2007, Medimetrix created a new parent company, Spirit Health Group®, which also serves as the umbrella for The Spirit of Women® Hospital Network, The HeartCaring® Hospital Network, Spirit Health MediaTM and Spirit Health PartnershipsTM. In 2010, Medimetrix developed Medimetrix Solutions Exchange which has evolved into an effective marketing channel for hospitals and health systems, strengthened by their website, MX.com, the first online marketplace for hospitals to discover free & licensed Solutions, white papers, industry news, and more.
