MEPL Information

Maharashtra Enviro Power Limited is a Special Purpose Vehicle promoted by SMS Infrastructures Ltd. registered under companies' act 1956 with a target to BUILD, OWN, OPERATE, a Common Hazardous Waste Treatment Storage Disposal Facility (CHWTSDF). MEPL has ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO: 9001 certification. MEPL has two well equipped NABL and MOEF accredited laboratory at Ranjangaon and Butibori. Direct Land Filling (DLF) The hazardous wastes which does not require treatment for stabilization and can be directly disposed in landfill as per pathway. Land filling After Treatment (LAT) Hazardous waste which requires treatment for stabilization and then it can be disposed in landfill. Incineration (PGVR) Solid and Liquid Hazardous waste is destructed by heat treatment in PGVR and converted into molten slag. In Maharashtra along with rapid industrial growth state government was concerned about management of hazardous waste and feel requirement of CHWTSDF in 2005 at Nagpur for Vidharbha region and near Pune Region. Maharashtra Enviro Power Ltd Set up Hazardous Waste Management Facility at Nagpur & Pune and commence operations in 2007 and 2009 respectively.
