Menthor was born in 2015 as a spin-off of the Ontology & Conceptual Modeling Research Group (NEMO), located at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES). As colleagues at the master's science program, we started making efforts to produce an environemnt to aid the creation, validation and implementation of ontologies, using and joining together all work we have been doing in the context of our master science degrees. Menthor Editor, initially dubbed as OLED, is a direct result of such efforts. The positive feedback from users and community has grown our interest to produce a professional tool that could aid ontology modelers to create reliable and expressive ontologies.
