AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, social mission organization with a membership of nearly 38 million. Our aim is to disrupt outdated stereotypes about aging, turn goals and dreams into real possibilities, and fight for the issues that matter most to people 50-plus, their families and communities.
Our social impact work in health security, financial resilience, and personal fulfillment is at the heart of what we do. With offices in every state plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, we live and work in the communities we serve. Based in Arlington, Texas, American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top 2 percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. In addition to interacting online, members attend local and national events, join special interest groups that range from astronomy to yoga, and help out in their communities. The organization has more than 50,000 members in the United States and its protectorates.
Mensa's purposes are:
1) to identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity;
2) to encourage research into the nature, characteristics, and uses of intelligence; and
