(A) MemFish offers a 7 day guarantee on all fish (*with a few exceptions). If you should have a fish die within the first 7 days, bring the fish, the original receipt, and a separate sample of water from your aquarium back to the store. Our staff will check the water to insure the water quality is acceptable - ammonia and nitrites are zero (0), and nitrates are 20 ppm or less. For salt water, specific gravity needs to be between 1.021 and 1.026. If the fish shows signs of being killed by another fish in your tank, we will not guarantee the dead fish. If these all check out, we will replace your fish, or get you something else for the same amount as the dead fish. MemFish does not offer a guarantee on invertebrates, corals, or live plants. Due to the sensitive nature of these items, we do not offer any type of guarantee/warranty. (Q) What is your exchange/return policy? (A) MemFish offers a full refund within 30 days of purchase with the original receipt on all unopened items. We offer store credit within 30 days of purchase without receipt on unopened items. We have NO refund or exchange on opened items. (Q) Do you special order items? (A) We love to special order items. Special order items must be pre-paid, and have a order time of about 2 weeks for most items. Special order aquariums, stands, and canopies have a 4 week minimum order time. Special order items have a no refund/return policy. If the item or items are received broken or damaged the warranty/guarantee will be through the manufacturer of that item. MemFish does not warranty/guarantee special order items. (Q) What is the nitrogen cycle? (A) The nitrogen cycle is a bacterial cycle that all aquariums must go through. When fish are introduced to the aquarium, they produce waste. That waste is broken down into different forms of nitrogen by beneficial bacteria in the aquarium.
