At Medlock we are working towards the Dyslexia Aware quality Mark, which will ensure we are a dyslexia friendly school. What does it mean? It means we are looking carefully at all children to support them if they show dyslexic tendencies. The class teachers are able to ask for a child to be 'screened' using a computer based programme. This screener highlights difficulties and these can then be discussed with Teresa Weir, the dyslexia Specialist who comes into school twice a week.
