Medical Delta Information

Medical Delta is a transdisciplinary collaboration involving more than 1,000 participants from Erasmus University, Erasmus MC, TU Delft, LUMC, Leiden University, and four universities of applied sciences in the province of Zuid-Holland, the Netherlands (The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Leiden University of Applied Sciences, and Inholland University of Applied Sciences). Together with businesses, healthcare institutions, and governments, we work on innovative solutions for sustainable healthcare. Medical Delta achieves this through transdisciplinary research programs and practice-oriented living labs. In doing so, Medical Delta serves as the central hub of the healthcare & innovation ecosystem in the province of Zuid-Holland and beyond. History Medical Delta was founded in 2006 by the three universities (TU Delft, Leiden University and Erasmus University Rotterdam) and the two UMCs (LUMC and Erasmus MC) in the province of Zuid-Holland. Since 2016, four universities of applied sciences from the province (The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Hogeschool InHolland, Hogeschool Rotterdam and Hogeschool Leiden) joined as well. Mission The regional collaboration Medical Delta contributes to keeping healthcare accessible, staffed, and affordable through innovative and sustainable solutions. Vision To realize sustainable and innovative solutions in healthcare, a transdisciplinary approach is increasingly needed. Collaboration is crucial to bridging the gap from fundamental research to practical application in daily healthcare. Strategy Medical Delta promotes interdisciplinary research and connects scientific insights with practical knowledge through (scientific) programs, living labs, and projects.
